Mills PTO

The PTO always needs volunteers for their events throughout the year.  Please check VolunteerSpot to see what volunteer opportunities are available!  We appreciate your help in advance!

5 Good Reasons to Join the PTO Today!

  1. PTO keeps parents better informed, which is good for Mills students! The PTO works hard to educate and inform parents through a newsletter, and great panel discussions and speakers at our meetings.
  2. PTO supports our Mills teachers and staff by providing support and appreciation functions.
  3. PTO Volunteers support Mills staff, whether it’s help with registration day, or support for career day; PTO Volunteers are there with a smile.
  4. PTO advocates for students on issues that matter. From AP Testing to Co-Location issues, the PTO is there advocating for the educational rights of our students.
  5. PTO supports the Mills AnnualFund, by supplying volunteers and coordinators for Mills Mania and marketing the value of the Excellence Fund.

Mission Statement

The Mills Viking Parent Teacher Organization mission is to provide parent volunteers and services to teachers, students and staff of MHS; to support the fundraising efforts of the "Your Fair Share Counts -- Mills Annual Fund" campaign; to educate and inform parents and the community about MHS; and to encourage involvement through PTO sponsored social activities.

PTO President's Message

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Mills Family!  As your 2016-2017 President of the Mills Viking Parent-Teacher Organization (“PTO”), I encourage your participation and involvement. We have activities, meetings and events planned throughout the year and strongly encourage your participation. We hope the 2016-2017 school year at Mills High School will be both an exciting and rewarding experience for you and your family.

The Mills Viking PTO provides a vital link between parents, staff and administration. We strive to provide open communication with parents, the Mills staff and other stakeholders.  In addition to Mills Mania, we plan on hosting potlucks, inviting informative guest speakers, hosting wellness seminars, and continually supporting our entire Mills Community (staff, students, and parents).

Here are some ways to stay informed and involved at Mills High School:

  • Visit the Mills Viking PTO web page -

  • Sign up to receive regular email updates to stay informed on all important dates at MHS (for example, SAT prep classes, college tours, drama productions, etc.).

  • Volunteer for one or more events throughout the year.  Can’t commit now?  Sign up so you know what volunteer opportunities come up ~ the PTO is always in need of helping hands.

  • Attend PTO meetings (typically) held the 3rd Wednesday of each month

Our 1st meeting will be a Pot Luck Dinner on Wednesday, August 24th at 6:30 pm followed by our PTO meeting at 7:30 pm in the Mills Cafeteria.  Please mark your calendar.  We encourage all parents, teachers and staff from the PTO, Mills Musical Arts Group (“MMAG”), Athletic Boosters and other school groups to join us.

Lastly, please contribute to the Mills High School Annual Fund.  This fund supports our teachers & school with vital supplies, resources, equipment and technology to supplement your students’ learning experience that the school district does not provide. The PTO, Mills students, staff and parent groups support the Annual Fund by hosting Mills Mania, which is a kick off event for the Annual Fund in early October 2016.

Once again, welcome to the Mills Family!  We look forward to your support and involvement.

Go Vikings!!!
